Outdoor Party Decorations

Get Your Outdoor Party Decorations

There has been many occasions when I have had to look for outdoor party decorations for my childrens birthday parties or other special occasions, and I have had so much trouble finding exactly what I wanted. Living in a small town, makes it harder to find what you are looking for but online shopping has really opened our world up.

Below are a few tips on choosing the best outdoor party decorations just right for you.

Choose a Theme for Your Outdoor Party

What is your party for?  Is it a Christmas party, a childs birthday, Halloween or just a social get together with friends.  This will help you determine what outdoor decorations you need.

What is the Season of Your Party

You also have to look at the season you are in.  In Australia, Christmas is in summer, so a lot of families have barbeques and outdoor parties for Christmas.  On the other hand if you are having a child’s birthday party in Autumn outside, you need to allow for a sheltered area in case of colder weather.  We actually have a perfect set up for children’s outdoor parties at our home, as we have a double garage under the house which leads to outside,  so the party decorations and food can be sheltered from the weather, but the kids can still play their games outside. The best part is, you can hose it out when its all finished.

Can your Outdoor Party Decorations Be Re-Used

Personally I like to buy decorations which I can re use, especially when it comes to Christmas.  This saves a lot of money for next year as well as its good to recycle.  Definitely something for you to think about.

Other things you need to consider are costs, colours and do you have room to store them when the party is over.

Types of Outdoor Party Decorations

After doing some research, I have found a huge range of decorations you can use outdoor, which are fun and colourful and would add a lot of atmosphere to your party.

These include: Jumbo Happy Birthday Inflatable Birthday Cake Party Decoration
Indoor/Outdoor party lights
Ground Breaker Light Skeleton
Indoor/Outdoor Rope Lights
Lawn Lights Outdoor Decoration, LED

There are heaps of others to choose from so click on the link at the top of this page and I’m sure you will find the perfect outdoor party decorations.

I agree it is a great idea to reuse decorations if at all possible. A lighted path always looks fantastic at night and simply made by putting a tealight candle inside a paper bag, weighted with some sand.

I agree, there is nothing like lights to brighten up the atmosphere for a night party. What a wonderful and low cost suggestion you have made with the tealights. Thank you.

I’ve used the tealight candles, and they create a lovely atmosphere suitable for all occasions, as well as light up a dark passage. I love decorating for a party, and if I create my own decorations,I enoy the preparation as well as the occasion. I’m always looking for new ideas.

    Hi Jackie,

I love party times. Its the best way to spend quality fun time together with family and friends. Outdoor party decorations can be varied and like you said its best to get decorations that can be used again.
We like to use parks for our boys birthday party’s as its outdoors and the mess is easier to clean up afterwards.

    Cheers

      Hi Lisa

Fantastic idea to have your boys birthdays in the park. Certainly plenty of space for everyone to run around and as you said, very easy to clean up afterwards.

  6. I love a good outdoor party, and there is so much fun you can have. I have some nice outdoor christmas decoration but not much else. It would be nice to have a place where you can hire stuff just for the party, but being in a small place we don’t have that opportunity.

      Hi Renee,
Hiring outdoor party decorations is certainly a great way to go if you have a place in your town that does that type of thing. I too love outdoor parties.

  7. Outdoor party decorations can really ‘lift’ the party atmosphere and, like you, I like to get value for money and re-use if possible.
The blow up birthday cake is great. It would look brilliant bobbing around in the pool – although with boys it probably wouldn’t last long – they’d try to jump on top of it and stay there!

      Hi Jan
The blow up birthday cake would look great for a pool party. As you said the kids would have a lot of fun making a game of it and jumping on it.

  9. Great ideas Jackie,

We did a wonderful fairy party for our daughters fifth birthday, I do love the giant cake and the fairy lights through the garden would be nice for a twilight party…
    ciao for now

  10. Now that the holidays are over, I’m looking for party ideas for a baptism. It would be for a boy and these ideas helped me a lot! Thanks!
